Sweet Findings

Hey!
It's yet another week :)

It has been a great week for me, Cooper; my beagle...can finally run on grass! He was such a happy pup! He was running around, tail wagging and all. And when we got back, he knocked out for a couple of hours! :)

Anywho...let's get to this weeks' sweet findings! I want to share with you my favourite blogs...these are the blogs that I go to for great recipes, get inspired or simply just for some food porn!

Joy, always have great recipes! I have used her recipes and I always feel that they are great ones. The pictures on her blog are always so inviting. Joy also writes in a way as if she's actually talking to you in person. She's funny and quirky! Check out my Cinnamon Sugar with Browned Butter Pull Apart Bread; recipe by Joy.

Angie, omg! Seriously she is so creative! Her cake pops are always so cute and amazing! and her recipes always looks so indulgent. Sometimes I feel that I can get sugar high just by looking at all those sweets that she makes!

Yes, I do go to my own blog too when I am in my baking mood, I look for recipes.  Sometimes I use these recipes and put a new twist to it. I am just grateful for all of your support all these years! Wouldn't be able to do it without all of your love! :) Thank you.

My top 3 favourite ingredients

Hey!
So...I thought I'll share with you my top 3 favourite ingredients to have! :)

Eggs
Have I told you lately...that I LOVE eggs?!?! There are endless ideas you can do with eggs! What more can I say? You can poach, fried, steam, scramble, stew! Eggs adds richness to your baked goods and it definitely makes my meal so much more satisfying..but I guess I'm bias cause I can't live without them! Now let's jiggle!

Anchovies
Yes, many people may be thinking "ewww, yucks...smelly". But seriously it is such a great base for your cooking. I use it when I am cooking western food usually. I buy them in oil, so not the dried ones. It has that salty fragrance taste to it, very strong, but with the right amount, it gives just a hint of saltiness and depth to your food. Add it in together with your garlic and onions when cooking.

Chillies
I have to have pretty much everything savoury with chilli! Not a fan of chilli in chocolate though! But definitely when I am having savoury food. There are so many types of chilli....fresh, dried, oil.....
If I am in charge of cooking, you will definitely find at least one if not all dishes that has chilli in it!

Now you know what are my 3 top favourite ingredients to use...what are yours?

Happy Hump Day! :)

Sweet Findings

HEY!

Another week has come and gone! Time flies pretty quick! What has been happening for you? It has been pretty cold here in Sydney, sometimes I have 3 layers on!

Below are my this week's Sweet Findings! :)

1 - I ran out of self-raising flour the other day, so I made my own. Simply, add 2 teaspoons of baking powder for every 1 cup of plain flour.

How to bring out more flavours in your zest!

pix: insockmonkeyslippers.com

I learnt somewhere, I think it was from JoytheBaker, that if you rub your lemon or lime zest with your sugar before you mix it in, it will bring out more flavour then just adding it in normally.

Try it! I have not, but definitely can't wait to do so.

Happy zesty day! :)
