How to use Demerara Sugar?

The answer:
Pix: Naturewithlove

Sprinkle some Demerara sugar on top of your goodies before before it goes into the oven.

You can use it when you're making....

Demerara sugar gives you better flavour too compared to normal sugar.

You can buy Demerara sugar from any supermarket. I get mine from CSR!

Enjoy! :)

Perhaps a New Look?

Yes! You noticed! My blog looks so different now...

I'm just playing around with fonts and colours...not too sure about sticking to this, might just revert back to the previous one...

Perhaps you could help me make a decision?

What say you??

Do you find it hard to read? Do you like it? Hate it?

Don't be shy, I won't bite. Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks! :)

Been missing eating.....

Chicken Rice!!

I can't find any chicken rice places that comes close to the one I eat back home (unless you know of one, please point me to that direction - thank u). The chicken rice that are sold in Sydney taste different. There's just no comparison!

Such a simple dish, yet so satisfying!
Chicken Rice....not the usual boiled white rice...

Steam White Chicken (Pak Kai)

a must to have it with the condiments! - Ginger, Chilli and some dark soya sauce

Crunchy Skin Roast Pork (Siew Yuk / Siu Bak) - from another place; will blog about it in the another post

BBQ Pork (Char Siew) - Juicy and Tender - from another place; will blog about it in the another post

Beansprout (Taugeh)

Tofu served with garnishes

It was a wonderful delicious and satisfying meal!

One of my favourite places to eat these is....

Restaurant Loke Yun
158 Jalan Besar Ampang
Selangor Darul Ehsan
03 4291 9884

Enjoy! :)

What I have been up to lately?

How is everyone doing?

I have been back for almost 2 weeks now.

The first few days, was great! Had so much of spicy food...but...I could no longer have any of my favourite spicy hot food after that until now..just because I've still not fully recovered from a too-much-spicy-oily-food.hot-hot-weather-sleeping-late-dehydrated virus.

Though, I have been baking, some are old favourites while some new - made my favourite Cookies and Cream Cupcakes, Orange Iced Genoise Cake, turning a brownie into a Rich Moist Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting; yes you heard me right, will show you how to do that next time and Chocolate Chip Banana cakes.

These are what I ate in the first few days of my holidays. These are the food that I miss eating when I'm in Sydney. They are my utmost favourite food in the world. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper!

I know it isn't the healthiest of choices but I'm back for a holiday and I plan to eat it as much as I can.

I know I kinda asked for it with my "healthy routine"...  But I've been eating less oily-spicy-hot food  that is all so yummy too.. will write about it in my next post!

So stay tune!

*pray for me that I'll get well soon!*

Have a lovely night! :)

How to know when the oil is hot enough?

Hello :)

Sorry I've been missing for a while...

Promise will update soon!

I've got so much to share with you all.

I'm currently on holiday in Kuala Lumpur. Been eating so much!

Anyway, here's a quick tip for you, you might already know it....

How to find out whether your oil is hot enough?
(pix:recipetip)

Simply throw in a cube of bread, if it browns within 3 minutes, the oil is hot enough and is ready!

Have a lovely weekend! :)
